A Blog Can Help You Rank Higher With Google

Blogs have numerous benefits, when used correctly, and may be a tool that can help you grow your business.   Let’s take a look at some of the uses and specifically how blogs can impact your search engine rankings, while supporting your SEO efforts. 

Some businesses utilize blogs to build or strengthen credibility, while some businesses utilize blogs to expand their reach to potential new clients.  Others use blogs as a vehicle to build external links to their website. 

For some businesses the blog is uses primarily as a tool to improve or sustain search engine rankings with Google and the other search engines.  This works best when included as part of a comprehensive SEO strategy.  

It’s important to note that Google, Yahoo and others use a number of factors in ranking websites for specific keywords.  One of these elements is content, and specifically fresh content.  Search engines would like to insure that searchers have the best possible user experience and fresh, relevant content is important.

Each blog entry is considered to be a new page of content and the search engines take note.  This fresh content can be one or two paragraphs in length and it doesn’t have to be written with the expectation that others will comment.  

By simply writing two to three short blog post a week, the visibility of your website can increase along with your sales leads and sales opportunities.  This can be done for less than $500 dollars and under 20 minutes a week in many instances. 

Many small and medium sized businesses have yet to implement a blog on their website and this could be a means of separating your business from the competition with minimal investment.
