Common Google Ad Words and Pay Per Click Mistakes

June 06, 2009 By: Duane Coleman Category: Google AdWords, Pay Per Click Advertising

google-ad-wordsDid you know that an improperly set up Google AdWords and other pay per click advertising campaigns can cost a small business thousands of dollars over the course of a year?  One element that can reduce the waste is the target of the keywords.  It’s important for the keywords in your pay per click advertising campaigns to be categorized properly and fit the intended audience.

We recently optimized a Google campaign that was initially set up by company personnel.  By making a few small changes, we were able to reduce expenses by $1300 over three months, according to client invoices.

Are you aware of similar situations or has your business done an assessment to evaluate pay per click waste?  Please share your thoughts.  Thanks.
